Sinton High School STEM classes added a new tool to their belt this week, a 3d printer and digitizer. Students can now design products using their Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs and then print a real prototype using their new MakerBot Brand 3d printer. This printer which uses a material similar to weed eater line, will help student test their designs by creating real products. Pictured here is Pat Rodriguez and one of her students printing a student designed object.

Students in the PLTW Civil Engineering and Architecture classes have been busy learning about principles and elements of architecture while investigating architectural styles. Groups of students worked together to first create a presentation on 3-4 architectural styles . They also chose one specific type that they were interested in and created a model that featured the unique elements of that particular style of building.
