The Smith Middle School Future City students presented their project (a futuristic city using recycled materials) in San Marcos on Saturday, January 21st. Thirty-six teams competed in this Texas regional event.
Our team earned a 3rd place! We are so proud of you! A huge thanks to their sponsor, Geoff Rickerhauser, and to Bonnie Rodriguez for countless hours with the kids. Kudos to Stevie Swanson for attending the competition and helping them prepare for Saturday’s judging!
STEM Coordinator, Mrs. Mounts said, “I truly believe this competition encouraged and stimulated interest in STEM. Our Sinton ISD STEM Academy strives to develop a “STEM-savvy” workforce for the future. Our Sinton students have the opportunity to help shape the future of our global community.”
